I coach writers and rabbis on how to create a more expressive voice.

Start a new project or finish the current one. Whether you’re writing a memoir, sermon, play, screenplay, or essay, I’ll help reinforce your unique voice. I want you to become more confident, more excited about writing. You’ll learn to write more compelling, succinct work and connect deeply with your audience. We’ll meet for an hour.  I’ll give you homework and we’ll set goals. First draft to final edits I’ll be there every step of the way.

Client Success Stories

I teach my clients what I’ve learned over the last 25 years not so that they can mimic me or copy a set of formulas, but so that they can break the formulas, develop their own voice and enjoy successes of their own. The following is a selection of past and current client achievements.

  • I worked with Diana Chapman Walsh, President emerita of Wellesley College on her beautiful memoir The Claims of Life. It sold immediately and she recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of its publication.

  • Andrea Fleck Clardy, a prolific playwright, has turned to essay writing. Her second essay in the Boston Globe is a winner.

  • Constance Humphrey Egan’s play Secondhand Smoke was chosen for the Black Box New Play Festival 2024 in Brooklyn. Better Living Through Chemistry was published by Feels Blind Literary Magazine issue #10. Broken Chord won third place for the Shawnee Playhouse Original Playwrights Series.

  • My long-time client Allison Flom is a multi-talented writer who also directs. Her comedy Trash and Other Stories premiered in November and it’s hilarious!

  • Amy Da Luz’s play The Leftearlies is now a compelling audio drama. Treat yourself to a listen on Spotify or on your favorite platform.

  • Brie Knight’s play Pancake Queen got a first-rate production at Philadelphia Women’s Theatre Festival 2024.

  • Sharon Dilworth’s new book To Be Marquette is out! She’s also a terrific playwright and we’ve worked together for many years on her wonderful plays.

  • Lowell William’s screenplay, Inextricably Bound is getting a reading in LA in early 2025.

Clients who worked with me on their essay skills are now happily enrolled in Brooklyn Law, Dartmouth, Northwestern, and Fordham.

Stakes: The Big Five

What are people saying?

  • ALLISON LEE FLOM

PLAYWRIGHT, SCREENWRITER AND DIRECTOR CREATOR OF THE PODCAST “ERASED: THE MURDER OF ELMA SANDS”

Michele Lowe revolutionized my writing. From daily practice to execution and production, Michele’s guidance has been invaluable. She helps me stay entrenched in my work, challenging me to think critically about conflict and characters, and ensuring that I’m genuinely having fun as I hone my craft. Michele is reliable, gracious, and easy to learn from. I cannot recommend her highly enough for private coaching. Michele, you are remarkable…thank you for your support!”

  • RABBI CARI BRICKLIN-SMALL

SENIOR RABBI, TEMPLE SHIR TIKVAH , WINCHESTER MA

“She is positive, energetic and dedicated which in turn enables me to stand before the congregation confident in my message. I’ve received tremendously positive feedback on the sermons I’ve delivered with Michele’s help-- even when they were on controversial topics. My favorite one, though, was ‘You really seem to have found your voice.’ I did with Michele’s help!”

  • DIANA CHAPMAN WALSH

PRESIDENT EMERITA OF WELLESLEY COLLEGE AUTHOR OF THE MEMOIR “THE CLAIMS OF LIFE”

“Michele Lowe, who has an uncanny gift for asking just the right question, followed the threads, noted where the reader was lost, and where the writer disappeared. We spoke weekly by phone, not Zoom. I liked that. I liked her. A whole lot. At the outset, she asked me what I wanted to do. I told her I’d written throughout my life, but not yet the beautiful book I wanted to write from the time I was twelve. We set out together to bring that wish to fulfillment, and soon found ourselves in a generative partnership that transformed us both. I can’t thank you enough, Michele.”
